Hon. Micah Grant, Principal

Micah Grant is a sought-after veteran communications professional and campaign strategist who has led successful state and local public affairs campaigns. He has consulted on winning campaigns for elected office and has earned a reputation as an efficient operator and master practitioner within the communications industry.

Micah’s professional experience includes serving as a vice president at Mercury Public Affairs, a leading multi-national public affairs firm. While at Mercury, he led communications strategy for a diverse array of clients including government agencies, large corporations, and political figures. He also served as on-the-record spokesman and go-to consultant for crisis mitigation.

Prior to Mercury, Micah worked in both houses of the California State Legislature as a communications consultant and as a press secretary for former Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff.  Micah also served as Deputy Communications Director for the California Republican Party and as Press Secretary for former Board of Equalization Chair George Runner.

Currently, Micah sits on the board of California Black Media (CBM) where he serves as interim chair and directs organizational communication, strategic planning, and implementation of various initiatives. In 2016, Micah successfully ran for a seat on the Natomas Unified School District Board of Trustees. He was successfully re-elected in 2020, with his campaign receiving the most votes in Natomas Unified School District history. 

Micah is a graduate of the University of California, Davis with a bachelor’s degree in communications studies and holds a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis on marketing from the University of Phoenix. Micah, his wife, Janae, and their daughter, London, live in Natomas. Together, they enjoy reading, exercising, and gaming.

Jaivon Grant, Managing Director

Jaivon Grant is a communications professional, strategist, and former journalist. He possesses in-depth knowledge about California politics including federal, state, and local issues. At Alexi, Jaivon is in charge of managing social media and digital strategy for clients and has a penchant for outside-the-box thinking. 

Prior to joining Alexi, Jaivon worked as a reporter for three major Black news organizations—the Los Angeles Wave, Our Weekly Newspapers, and California Black Media (CBM). His beat included City Hall, education issues, and the California State Legislature. He has also provided in-depth political commentary for publication in major newspapers. 

His other professional experience includes working as a principal publications analyst for Northrop Grumman, where he reviewed large proposals and policy documents that were distributed to thousands of employees across multiple departments. Jaivon also served a stint as a media consultant for MBA Public Affairs based out of Sacramento. 

Jaivon is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and in his spare time he enjoys salsa dancing and competitive gaming.

Terrell Grant, Director

Terrell Grant is a Director at Alexi Public Relations, where he oversees strategic planning, budgeting, and company forecasting, and provides ongoing communications support for various clients.

Prior to joining Alexi, Terrell served as a brand consultant for Dynamic Vision Inc., where he provided marketing and brand identity consulting to numerous firms and political candidates. Terrell has also advised on grassroots efforts for political campaigns and currently serves as President of a local non-profit that supports at-risk youth.

Terrell holds a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from the University of California, Davis and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.

Courtney Lee, Digital Marcomm Strategist

Courtney Lee is an experienced digital marketing and communications professional who specializes in driving awareness and engagement through targeted social media and digital campaigns. With over 13 years of experience developing and implementing marketing strategies for early-stage start-ups, corporations, non-profits, and political campaigns, Courtney has developed a reputation for being a “Swiss Army Knife” marketer with a “get it done” attitude.

Courtney is a graduate of the University of California, Davis with a bachelor’s degree in communications studies and holds a digital marketing nanodegree from Udacity. She enjoys listening to classical music, exercising, and enjoying the bright lights and social life of Downtown San Francisco.

Caitlin Estes, Senior Associate

Caitlin Estes is a Senior Associate with Alexi Public Relations. Caitlin’s expertise is in earned and paid media for publicly owned and government-led organizations. Caitlin is a traditional public relations/public affairs specialist focusing on campaign design and execution. Some of her previous clients included the California Census, The California Department of Public Health, and The California Exposition. In her spare time, she enjoys photography and yoga.
